Ah how fun to have time to kick around and make jewelry and stuff! Insteqd of sealing moments here and there I had time to sit down and play for real… How perfect that I got a custom request from ETSY and it is a VERY unique necklace!

Inspired by Junebug the rat, and requested by a lovely person who resucues rats, here is my necklace of today! I hope she is pleased when she gets it and surprised by the extra earrings! I love to send out earrings to match my necklaces when it is not expected!

Word Clouds and Wordle

I have to work hard to stay ahead of my son and his technology learning, he is in a fantastic tech prep program and I am not sure my tech skills will be ahead of him for long!

I am also amazed at twitter and the possibilities it hold for teaching as well as sharing online information. If accurate it was a twitterer who shared the first pictures of the recent Hudson River landing of an airplane, so — first thing I did today was to remind myself how to take an image and link it to places, I seldom need to do html code so I hard forgotten this all.

First I made a work cloud from an app I got from my twitter tool bar, then I captured the screen shot, then I uploaded to photobucket and linke to my online ETSY store — here it is:

Then I remembered that I had known how to do this long ago, and posted to my ebay group the below image that can go to my ebay store only –

So, follow me on twitter – http://twitter.com/Gwynstone if you find this of interest — I think I am most excited about it right now as a new an emerging way to stay connected!

I think I will go try to make myself a picture that people can click to follow me on twitter! If I get it done I will add it to my next post!

A bit more on that image:

http://www.wordle.net/ Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide (I just put the URL of my ebay store in by the way to get my words). The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

I then did a screen capture and loaded it into photobucket, in windows vista there is a snippit tool to screen capture, for windows xp you have to use the prnscrn key on your keyboard and take it into a photo edit program (save as jpeg image).

To get your snippet tool in Vista, open up your start and type snippit in the search box to add it to your tool bar or programs — this is very useful to make thumbnails of your store!
